Blog # 7 Final Thoughts Reading Spring 2013

1. The ads are completely relevant the hard truth is the only way to get through to these teenagers. These ads are very similar to the cigarette ads. I think nowadays fear is the only way to penetrate a young mind.

2. I think these type of ads will keep safe sex in the back of these kids minds that its not a joke anymore to create baby's and cant provide for them, you must be able to provide for yourself before you can provide for a child.

3. The ads are right on the money, teenagers are the biggest concern in terms of pregnancy if your in your twenties by all means that child is your life and a long responsibility is set upon you, these ads to me are giving teenagers a second chance in realizing that they have to learn how control there sex life.

4. I think these ads are nice big slap in the face, they are so true, playing with a child's life is not a joke. you can still enjoy intercourse with a partner with out creating a baby !!! I think teens need to be educated more on safe sex because there are condoms in every store. Temptation and pleasures are hard to overcome but part of being an adult and controlling  your  sex life is equally important . Teens need to realize that sometimes a child must come later in life when your financially ready and mature enough to take on such a endeavor.

BLOG # 6 PEACE & EVIL

            A world without hate to me is a life long journey to accomplish, there will all ways be evil and peace in our existence. Humans are prime examples; you have evil people and you have good people and individuals who practice peace and others who practice evil. It takes people like Martin Luther a leader, a hero, someone who was not afraid to go against the grain and stand up for whats good and right. Fear is our biggest enemy for us humans, fear can stop a person from doing everything, if we can all somehow over come all our fears and work together in this war against evil by harnessing the power of peace we can use this as a weapon to change the world. Cyber-bullying is also practiced by evil people and we can stop them by encouraging peace subliminally by embedding our messages in a way they can understand or relate to. Cyber punks  really need to get lives and find a real hobby . Note to the cyber bullying victims what really matters is your immediate family,  and real friends, not what some dummy says on Facebook. I do believe we need to develop strict consequences for these cyber fools to send a real message to them that it is wrong to manipulate and persuade people with terrible words.

2. This article is about how second hand cigarette smoke effects non-smokers.

3. The main idea is about how new laws are being developed to favor good healthy smoke free environments for everyone. New anti-smoking polices are being enforced.

4. In Belmont Calif a new city law was passed that apartment complexes keep a portion of their units smoke free. Another detail is smoke free policies in private dwellings are also taking hold this could potentially mean and intrusion of privacy banning smoking in your own home, this I don't agree with at all ridiculous. Finally giving more teeth to the push is a finding in the U.S. Surgeon General report says there are no safe levels of secondhand smoke.

5. I believe smokers are victims of discrimination smoking habits are hard to give up.  If you are a smoker I believe you need to show more respect for those around you who don't smoke, and find a place to smoke where your not harming others. Most of the time some smokers just don't care because they give in to there habit to much and to fast. the only way to quit is to learn how to take control of your cravings.

6. I believe the government needs to mind there business sometimes. But in this case its understandable for them to want control over these smoking issues because it can kill people even those who don't smoke.

Blog.4 Texting While Driving Video.

Wow this video really set me straight I'm not ever texting and driving again. This video goes to show you that all it takes is that one text, that one split second for an accident to happen. I've been in a bad car accident myself a couple of years ago so I can relate to this as well. The accident I was in wasn't because of texting but this video brought back some scary memories. From now on cell phone stays off when I'm driving a text message isn't worth your life and people need to learn patience again. After seeing this video it did change my mind about texting and driving, I"ll  never do it again. In my opinion this video is relevant to any age group of drivers. I think this video is very powerful and the truth is scary to accept sometimes. This video is an effective tool for reaching all texters of our universe to STOP being obsessive smartphone users.

Blog 3. Cell Phones And Driving Safety

2.The main point of this reading is clearly, that cell phones and, phone conversations while driving is very dangerous and causes many accidents on the road.


3.Drunk drivers tend to be more aggressive while driving and talking on the phone tends to make people sluggish while driving  reaction  time is reduced.

4. Number has not increased as much as expected because the drivers that are paying attention are compensating for everyone else s errors on the road.

5. Sometimes on the long ride to school in the morning I catch myself Texting, most of the time I turn my phone off while I'm driving.




6. I feel this article is effective in regards to cell phone use and driving. I feel they significantly state many true facts about this issue.


Another Interesting Point: 
Frank Drews stated "Drivers on cell phones were 5.36 times more likely to get into an accident than non-distracted drivers." Also cell phones implement a reduction in reaction time to scenarios on the road

Blog 2.Genetic Testing Response

1. We can benefit from Genetic Testing in many ways. DNA can be manipulated to prevent certain diseases like sickle-cell anemia, and muscular dystrophy, before they arrive in your system.One thing I don't agree with is "Genetic Privacy" how they can use DNA testing to determine if  your eligible for a job. A company can look into your "Medical Destiny" to determine how much medical insurance will cost them in the future. That to me is ridiculous. Also how  life insurance companies can demand genetic testing before issuing you a policy. People will do anything to save a dollar.

2. The main point of this is reading is that genetic testing can be used to find anyone's "Medical Destiny" and it allows doctors to manipulate segments of DNA to prevent diseases and determine the future.

3.Designer children means that scientists can manipulate a women's genes to determine eye color of a baby and if the child's healthy . This is good and also bad. If you want to make sure your baby's healthy by all means go ahead and get some DNA testing done. If parents want to abort a fetus just because the eye color of the baby isn't the color they expected, is just absurd. you cant be picky with life and control what god created, that to me makes no sense.

4.To me that's actually a scary thing to know your medical destiny I'd rather let life just take its course.

5.Depending on the medical issue my partner had would make this a difficult decision , I would in fact move forward in the relationship even if my partner had a medical issue. I mean if we truly love each other at the end of the day that's  what really matters to me.

Blog 1.Cyber-Bullying Response

Cyber Bullying Questions:


1. Just from the topic I can tell the author is against Cyber Bullying. Kids these days are getting themselves into trouble with the use of technologies, such as social media,chat rooms, and cell phone applications. Kids nowadays use Cyber Bullying methods to harass and humiliate other people.



2. The main idea of this story is to clearly pass new laws to incriminate cyber bullies. This is more serious than I even realized. Kids are committing suicide as a result of being targeted online.



3. "Sexting"  "Textual harassment"  "Cyber bullying"



 4. Cyber-bullying can inflict lasting wounds on young people. Bullying can effect academic performance,self esteem, and mental and physical health of children.



5. I think we all at some point came across a Cyber Punk online. This is also why I believe in using security preferences and the "Block" feature. If its a really serious issue document the conversations save them as well, and file a police report. There is no reason why anyone should commit suicide because of a Cyber Bully, that's insane and laws should be developed against this issue.
