Blog.5 Response

2. This article is about how second hand cigarette smoke effects non-smokers.

3. The main idea is about how new laws are being developed to favor good healthy smoke free environments for everyone. New anti-smoking polices are being enforced.

4. In Belmont Calif a new city law was passed that apartment complexes keep a portion of their units smoke free. Another detail is smoke free policies in private dwellings are also taking hold this could potentially mean and intrusion of privacy banning smoking in your own home, this I don't agree with at all ridiculous. Finally giving more teeth to the push is a finding in the U.S. Surgeon General report says there are no safe levels of secondhand smoke.

5. I believe smokers are victims of discrimination smoking habits are hard to give up.  If you are a smoker I believe you need to show more respect for those around you who don't smoke, and find a place to smoke where your not harming others. Most of the time some smokers just don't care because they give in to there habit to much and to fast. the only way to quit is to learn how to take control of your cravings.

6. I believe the government needs to mind there business sometimes. But in this case its understandable for them to want control over these smoking issues because it can kill people even those who don't smoke.

  1. Good job on the details, but you might want to rethink the topic and main idea. Remember that the topic is usually one to two words(title). I agree with you that the government does not need to be in our lives in every aspect. Happy Easter.

  4. With regards to the main idea, on the contrary, I feel that new laws being enforced by the government are being opposed by individuals who feel that the government should not be intervening in matters at home. Therefore, even though laws may be coming about, I think the main idea centers more about how people feel about the passing of these laws.

  5. I dont' agree with your answer about smokers being victims of discrimination because I feel their actions not innocent and harming others, hence they should be careful with where they smoke. Nevertheless, I agree with you last answer that the government stepped in at the right time to help this issue and it is definitely not imposing on our private lives.

  6. Hi, I don't agree with your No4 answer, they don't have any mistake on moral. though their could be something harmful to others. so we should not discriminate against them. Even there are some advantages for whom smokes, that is they can successfully escape from pressure by smoking.

  7. i guess it depends on what you're smokin' huh? my dad's like 80 n' all he wants to do is sit around the house smokin' cigs, drinkin' coffee, n' watchin' TV. humm, all of which appear to be good for him. he's got diabetes n' a heart transplant to prove it. my mom's the same. i end up w/ a chronic pulmonary obstruction. in therapy, they tell me people with an attention deficit need to get really excited to get anything accomplished so stimulants n' aggression help with this. my point is that it maybe the environment that creates smokers n' now the environment destroys them. go environment!
